Windows calculator
1. Windows calculator
The Windows calculator program,
calc.exe, can be used for simple calculations that, the result of which can be copied into the clipboard and pasted into another application (as text).
2. Start the Windows calculator
One way to start the "Calculator" program is to select "Start", "Programs", "Accessories", "Calculator".
Another way is to select "Start", "Run...", type calc.exe, "OK".
3. Standard calculator
Just press the buttons using the mouse in the same way that you would do on a real calculator.
For example, pressing "
2", "
sqrt" displays the square root of
2, or approximately
1.414213562373.
4. Copy-paste the result
To copy the result into the clipboard, select "Edit", "Copy". The result can then be pasted into another application as text.
5. Scientific calculator
The scientific calculator can be accessed by selecting "
View", "
Scientific".
There are many functions available.
"PI" returns π, or approximately 3.1514159265359.
"sin", "cos", and "tan" are trigonometric functions.
"And", "Or", "Xor", "Lsh", and "Not" are bitwise operations
... and so on ...
