When a machine is connected to both a wired and a wireless network at the same time, it map happen that one is not connected to the Internet. In such cases, one might prefer for one way to be used over the other.
My case was as follows.
Connect to wi-fi that is connected to the Internet.
Connect to wired network that is not connected to the Internet.
The wired connection was taking precedence, so one could not access the Internet.
